Meals on Wheels of Warwick was founded in 1975 by Dr. Donald Hull and others in coordination with the Warwick Valley Ecumenical Council, whose sponsorship continued for 40 years.

Each of the five main churches in Warwick were in charge of delivering meals one day a week. Over the years, volunteers from all faiths joined our delivery teams. We are currently sponsored by the Warwick Reformed Church.

Dr. Hull saw a need for a nutritional program for patients who were recently discharged from the hospital and who were temporarily or permanently unable to cook for themselves.

What began with five clients in 1975 has grown.  In 2020, 11,761 meals were delivered to 75 clients by over 100 volunteers.  The average number of clients each weekday was 45.  In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, meal delivery continued throughout the year without interruption.
