Meals on Wheels of Warwick, NY, is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization delivering fresh weekday meals to elderly and homebound individuals unable to shop or cook for themselves. In addition to nutritious meals, the visit by delivery volunteers provides a helpful safety check-in and social interaction with clients.
Founded in 1975, Meals on Wheels of Warwick, NY, helps individuals maintain independence and remain in the comfort of their home.
Beginning with five clients in 1975, we have grown to serving 82 clients in 2023. With the help of over 120 volunteers, Meals on Wheels of Warwick, NY, delivered 12,000 meals last year. In spite of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, meal delivery continued throughout the year without interruption.
To provide nutritionally balanced meals at a reasonable cost delivered on a weekday basis to the homes within the Village of Warwick and surrounding areas in the Town of Warwick.
This enables seniors and the disabled to remain in their preferred environment (their home) for as long as possible.
Regular contact with our volunteers means that they are “checked-in on”.
Our volunteers may be the only people with whom our clients socialize.
